MESSAGE FROM VICE CHANCELLOR

Assalamu’alaikum w.b.t., Salam Sejahtera, Salam Malaysia Madani, Salam Sabah Maju Jaya.

Praise be to Allah SWT, we are privileged to be here to witness the University College Sabah Foundation’s third convocation celebration. Today is a watershed moment in your academic path, as you stand on the verge of a new beginning. On behalf of the university, I express my deepest congratulations to each and every one of you for attaining this historic milestone. Congratulations to all UCSF undergraduate and diploma students who have successfully completed their studies. Your hard work, persistence, and devotion have brought you to this point, and today we celebrate your accomplishments, as well as the knowledge and skills you have gained while at UCSF.

UCSF is a university college completely owned by Yayasan Sabah. Looking back on the history of this college university, we can discover that it was inspired or started by Sabah’s Father of Independence, Tun Datu Mustapha bin Datu Harun, as early as the 1960s. At the time, the late Tun Datu Mustapha stated that he intended to develop a university college in Sabah through the newly founded Sabah Foundation. UCSF is presently approaching the 10-year anniversary of its establishment. UCSF has transformed itself over the last decade into a center of academic achievement, innovation, and diversity. I expect that many more milestones will be made in the coming years, with UCSF being Sabah’s own 21st-century university.

On this momentous day, I would like to express my hope that UCSF graduates continue to contribute to the university, community, country, and humanity in general. I would also like to share a message that I normally convey to all my students:
“Invest your time in knowledge. In knowledge there is light, guidance, benefits, solutions, strength, and greatness”.
Once again, on behalf of the whole university community, I wish you success, contentment, and happiness in your future endeavors.

Wabillahi Taufiq Wal Hidayah, Wassalamu ‘Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh.

Yang Berbahagia Dr Rafiq Bin Idris
Vice Chancellor, University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF)
