INSTITUTE BORNEO STUDIES (IBS)
This research institute focuses on the culture, society and nature in Borneo, emphasizing Sabah, which has a myriad of traditions and customs, history, and changing environmental issues. The social and natural environment of Borneo is a living lab for scientists and students to embark on pertinent research, and to generate and apply knowledge through the findings of these research for society and industries at large. As an essential research platform, IBS will provide research facilities and services for researchers to conduct their work on Borneo. The fields of research may include culture and society, language, sustainability, biodiversity and conservation. Collaboration and joint-research at both national and international levels will enhance the depths and scopes of future findings.
