Institute Borneo Studies (IBS), University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) recently organized a Green Talk Series focusing on the topic of “Management: an Islamic perspective”. It was delivered by Dr. Mohamed Haleem bin Mohamed Razi, the Vice-Chancellor of UCSF.
The talk aimed at discussing faith-based management, in particular from an Islamic perspective. Islamic Management needs to be understand within the concept of Islam as a comprehensive way of life.
During the talk, Dr. Haleem shared interesting facts and highlighted on the sources of knowledge, principles, vision and mission as well as the evolutionary nature of the practices of Islamic Management. He also briefly explained on the growing trend of the faith-based management becoming more prominent as a complement or an alternative to conventional management
The talk was attended by academicians, staff and students from UCSF, UITM, Government agencies, NGOs and other institutions as well as students and teachers from SMK Sanzac. Among the special invited guest that were present during the talk included Datuk K.Y Mustafa, the Chairman of UCSF Board of Governors, Datuk Mohd Basrie Ab. Ghaffar, UCSF Industry Advisor, Tn Hj Abdul Razak, UKM and Mr Selabi bin Mohammad, Manager of Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YPEIM).
It was delivered by Associate Prof. Dr. Justin Sentian.
